IE8 And Safari Are Hacked At Pwn2Own, Chrome Still Safe

Just a few minutes before Pwn2Own contest, Apple released Safari 5.0.4 along with iOS 4.3. At the contest, MacBook Air and Safari 5.0.4 pwned in five seconds. Vupen said “We pwned Apple Safari on Mac OS X (x64) at pwn2own in 5 seconds,”. That, at least, is better than it fared in 2008.

Gmail Notifications Come With Google Chrome

A few minutes ago Google rolled out a new feature for Gmail and Chrome users: native Gmail notifications. These notifications are only available to Google Chrome users for now, and they’re very similar to Growl in the way they appear on your computer on top of any window you’re currently on. Unlike Growl, though, it all runs natively within Chrome and Gmail.

Google Reveals the Cr-48, the First Ever Chrome OS Laptop

Google has announced its first Chrome OS laptop called the Cr-48! This laptop is currently unbranded and will be distributed through its Chrome OS Pilot Program. This is sort of a public beta, but Googe is most likely interested in businesses which will provide feedback back to Google and comment on it's quality. There doesnt seem to be a way to pay for one now though.

Chrome OS Devices Coming by End of November

You read it right! Google's Chrome OS is nearly finished and ready to be pushed to the masses. This OS is planned to work on a device slightly smaller than a notebook that has internals of smarthphone. The first mobile devices using Google Chrome OS are set to be launched by the end of this month, according to DigiTimes.

Chrome OS Ported to iPad with Flash Support

A web developer and hacker called Hexxeh, has successfully ported Chromium OS on the iPad, Hexxeh is 17 years old, he is well-known developer and hacker in the Chrome field,  for now we only have one screen-shot for that feat success, the image showing Chromium OS running on iPad. For those who don't know the Chromium OS, it is the open source version of Chrome OS.

Google is Planning to Release 60x Faster Chrome 7 to Hit IE9 and Firefox 4

In case you are living under a rock and don't know yet, last week Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 9 beta with full hardware acceleration of all HTML5 content, improve canvas speed. Also Mozilla has released Firefox 4 beta last month with Panorama feature and more. So, Google is planning to Release Chrome 7 to hit back at IE9 and Firefox 4.
