First images of the supposed Samsung Z2 indicate device constructed of aluminum

Samsung announced some time ago that it would invest in its own operating system as an alternative to Android in several of its devices, with the Tizen OS in partnership with several other companies such as Intel and the Linux Foundation.

The system is currently present in several TVs and other devices, but South Korea has not yet submitted any smartphone or tablet really exciting with the platform, launching its maximum smartwatches Gear line.

Earlier this year, the company introduced the Z1 the world, being the first phone to be sold with Tizen running factory, even in a still early version of the software. The smartphone has achieved really interesting sales levels, especially if we consider that it is only available in India and Bangladesh and has a pretty basic hardware.

Because of this, it is no wonder that rumors of a more powerful version of the device began to circulate shortly after, and even said he would be sold in some other countries, including the US and several European markets.

Now, behold, come the first images of the supposed "Samsung Z2", showing that South Korea can invest in a very similar design to the Galaxy S3, with rounded edges and curved sides, thus abandoning a squarer face that is seen in the current model with Tizen OS. We should also point out that the next device seems to have built its metal sides, thus becoming greater security for its members.

Many details, but it is possible to see the presence of three sensors beside the machine's front camera to possibly being responsible for capturing information about light, proximity and gestures used by the user were not disclosed. It is also worth noting the presence of the Korean version of Tizen Store, where we can see applications like WhatsApp and games like Asphalt 8 Airborne, which means that every day more companies are paying attention to the platform.

It is expected that the Z2 also be announced in the first half, but nothing has been said so far by Samsung on said device, leaving we wait for an official statement to know what is really the goal of the South Korean with the new Tizen smartphone. Among its main specifications are expected:

  • Smaller screen than 5 inches with a resolution qHD (540 x 960 pixels)
  • Quad-core processor with 32-bit architecture
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 2.000mAh battery
  • Tizen 3.0 UI
