In iOS 9 debuts new application «Home» System Management "smart" home

This week Apple confirmed the imminent arrival of the first sale of accessories compatible with home automation platform HomeKit. As it became known, to control devices "smart" house with the help of the iPhone and iPad a company creates a new application, called «Home».

Platform HomeKit, for managing smart devices in the house, was presented with the iOS 8. System announced on the developer conference WWDC 2014, but compatible with it the gadgets on sale is still there. With the release of iOS 9, it is expected to go on sale the first of similar devices, but on the home screen of the iPhone and iPad will be a specialized application.

With Home can detect and configure devices compatible with HomeKit "smart" home. The program implements the functionality of Apple to create a virtual space to provide a more convenient organization of work with the devices.

The role of the hub will serve as set-top box Apple TV with a new generation of library functions to connect to a single system of intelligent home appliances. To ensure that these innovations, the console will update the computing platform A8 and significantly increase disk space.

The list of devices based on HomeKit include lamps, thermostats, electronic locks, electric actuators for opening the garage door, speakers, etc. They will be available next month.

"Despite the fact that the platform HomeKit available only a few months, we already have many partners ready to start the supply of accessories for it, and we look forward to the appearance on the market of the first copies of the following month," - said before Apple spokesman Trudy Müller. Unfortunately, the company did not specify which devices will be available.

And the first iOS 9-powered devices HomeKit will be presented in June at WWDC 2015.
