How To Fix Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues On iOS 5.0.1 [ Full Guide ]


Previously, Apple has released iOS 5 and most of idevices users have upgraded their devices to iOS 5.0.1. After upgrading to iOS 5.0.1, they have found many problem with Wi-Fi connectivity. So we will show you various methods to fix Wi-Fi connectivity issues with iOS 5.0.1. This issue affects iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, the iPads and even iPod touch users. First Method :
Renew IP Address:
  • Launch Settings app –> Tap Wi-Fi –> then select the Wi-Fi network that you connect to
  • Scroll down and tap on the “Renew Lease button
Second Method :
Forget This Network:
  • If method 1 ( Renew IP Address ) doesn’t resolve the issue, try this.
  • Launch Settings app –> Tap Wi-Fi –> then check the Wi-Fi network that you connect to
  • Then select “Forget this Network” his will clear your current Wi-Fi network settings, including saved Wi-Fi passwords.
  • This option will give you a pop up message saying “Forget to stop automatically joining this network
  • Then select the red option “Forget”
  • Go back to the list of your Wi-Fi networks, try to locate and join the Wi-Fi network again.
Third Method :
Restart iOS Device:
  • If method 2 ( Forget This Network) doesn’t resolve the issue, try this.
  • Press and hold the power button until “slide to power off” slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iOS device will turn off after a few moments.
  • Then Turn your device on by pressing and holding the power button until the Apple logo appears.
  • Then try to connect with your Wi-Fi again.
Fourth Method :
Reset Network Settings:
  • If method 3 ( Restart iOS Device ) doesn’t resolve the issue, try this.
  • Launch Settings app –> tap “General” –> then scroll down and tap on “Reset” then “Reset Network Settings”.
Important Note : This will clear your current all your Wi-Fi network settings, including saved networks, Wi-Fi passwords, and VPN settings.
  • When the device restarts, try to locate and join the Wi-Fi network again.
Important Note : You have to know that if your are trying to create a wireless Add hoc (To make your PC as a router) connection in Win so you should turn off your firewall in order to get the Wi-Fi connection
