According to 9To5Mac the supply of Snow Leopard boxes in the South Pacific are running out and retailers are unable to order more. Even the online Apple Stores of Australia and New Zealand have delayed shipments of Snow Leopard by 5-7 days.
Apple is planning a complete remodeling of their Apple Stores, dubbed Apple Store 2.0, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the first Apple Store. They have announced interactive 'Startup Sessions' bars, iPads to replace the paper product labels, and 'huge' displays equipped new sound systems. A brand new iOS App Store app is also to be expected, and if we're lucky, the Apple Stores might become a testing and demonstration ground for NFC technology.
I highly doubt that the shortages of Snow Leopard are a coincidence- they coincide perfectly with the start of the 'post-PC' era. Apple is going to make this count and Apple Stores are about to become even more awesome.
