According to AppShopper, App Store has passed the quarter million milestone this Friday, acheiving this in just two years and 49 days since the App Store was introduced. At the time I'm writing now, the App Store stands on 253,797 available apps, but if we count deleted and inactive apps, the App Store stands on 303,153 approved apps from 50,545 developers.
Here's a pie chart above from 148apps that lists all apps by category, showing how effective is the App Store as it started by 2 apps in the first month, then 20, and 1,092, etc... At the last, there were 235,027 apps submitted in the same month, July. [via Fortune]
