iPhone 3G and other old products will no longer receive support from Apple

Various Apple products, including some iPhones and Macbooks just entered to the list of products that no longer receive business support in terms of repairs and services. According to the most recent document, a new list of devices has been updated to the status of "obsolete", which also means that Apple Store employees also may not help you in solving problems related to them.





Obsolete products are those that have been discontinued there are at least seven years. The second classification that a product can get is called Vintage, it occurs in discontinued products for more than five years. Devices in this category can only receive repairs in California or in Turkey. This classification serves the United States. For other countries, the amount of years is reduced by two.

The iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS will become obsolete in Asia Pacific, Canada, Europe, Japan, Latin America and all Apple Stores. Both mobile phones have become "Vintage" in the United States where applicable, the first iPhone in turn, lose Vintage condition and become obsolete.

Within the field of computers, the iMac (200 &), MacBook Pro 15-inch (2.4 / 2.2GHz) and MacBook Pro 17-inch (2.4GHz) also have become obsolete.

These products will gain new categories on the 19th of June, so if you need to repair or resolve issues regarding some of these devices, this should be the time.
