Dropbox Denied $800 Million Acquisition Offered By Apple

Without any doubt most of us found in dropbox more flexibility and found it really easy to share files and folders with friends, family and colleagues over the internet. It is a simple web based file sharing service whose popularity has exploded ever since it was launched back in 2007.
Now unconfirmed reports say that Dropbox may have declined a $800 million acquisition offer by none other than the Cupertino based outfit itself, Apple.

Dropbox is fresh off of picking up $4 billion through a round of funding. A look at their charts reveals that the startup expects to see a total of $100 million in revenue by the end of this year. Apple allegedly offered $800 million to acquire this company, due to the fact that its successful and can help Apple further improve filesharing service across its devices.

However it has been claimed that Dropbox has declined this acquisition offer by Apple, for reasons best known to them only. It seems that the folks at Dropbox are aware of the fact that their little startup can be wider than they had ever imagined and declining an acquisition offer this early down the path seems to be the best thing that they could have done.

Nevertheless, do keep in mind that this is indeed a rumour. We have yet to hear a confirmation from either Dropbox or Apple, but when we do, you'll be the first to know.
