The latest build of Mac OS X 10.6.8 will get your Mac ready to upgrade to OS X Lion and remove Mac Defender.
The OS X 10.6.8 update was seeded to developers Friday, and according to it;s release notes, Apple will enhance the Mac App Store to support an upgrade to Lion and remove know variants of Mac Defender. Other minor upgrades include improving VPN reliability and support for IPv6 and a minor Preview issue.
Latest rumors indicate that after Apple's extensive internal testing of Lion, the OS might be released sooner than expected. Although the 3rd Developer Preview still has a few bugs to fix and the GM has yet to be seeded, we might see a release at the WWDC.
