iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2 issues in 2015 are equipped with Bluetooth 4.2

Now, instead of the module Bluetooth 4.0 devices will be equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 - the latest version of the wireless standard. iPod touch 6G originally came with Bluetooth 4.2, while the first iPad Air, iPad mini 2 and iPhone 5s are still equipped with Bluetooth 4.0.

The standard wireless data transmission Bluetooth 4.2 was presented to a group of Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) at the end of last year. The new version of Bluetooth making electronics more energy efficient and functional. By moving to a new interface, the data rate increases up to 2.5 times, and reduced power consumption. In addition, the standard has become much safer - the process of tracking unilaterally is now impossible, as Bluetooth 4.2 does not transmit any information without the creation of the pair.


Minutes of the fourth version of a practical range of about 30 meters, but Bluetooth 4.2 can run in excess of this limit, allowing convenient to work with wearable devices.

It is expected that Apple will integrate Bluetooth 4.2 module in all its products. The next week is expected to announce a new keyboard Magic Keyboard, Mouse Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad 2 2 to support the new interface.
