On Apple Watch launched iOS 4.2.1

14-year-old Billy Ellis, who calls himself "the developer of iOS-apps and tweaks", decided to experiment with the recently released Apple Watch. At their smart watches Ellis launched the operating system iOS 4.2.1, which was released in 2010.



Young experimenter placed on YouTube cover video demonstrating the transition to the boot of watchOS. After the boot screen with the inscription «4.2.1E» starts familiar to many iOS 4.2.1.

Judging from the video, it is difficult to say whether this is a real simulator, as Ellis does not conduct any operations, but the description of the video says: "it [the operating system - approx. Ed.] difficult to use on such a tiny screen, but very cool. "


This experiment is the latest in a series of experiments with Apple Watch. Recently, the developer Hamza Court demonstrated a successful attempt to launch of a custom interface to the "apple" hours. In June, another handyman Nick Lee managed to install on Apple Watch, running a beta version watchOS 2, the operating system Mac OS System 7.5.5, released in late 1996.

WatchOS 2 Update operating system Apple Watch will allow developers to create native applications for smart hours. This means that the program will work directly with Apple Watch without reference to the iPhone, as there is now. Currently watchOS 2 located beta. The final version of the OS will be released in September, along with iOS 9 and OS X 10.11.
