Members of Chronic Dev Team has just released a new version of greenpois0n which brings support for Apple TV 2G. Greenpois0n RC6 now available for both Windows & Mac machines that untethers Apple TV 2G jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1.

According to a TUAW report, there's a possibility that online gaming will be coming to the new Apple TV in iOS 4.3, and no, we're not talking about this Game Center, it may be something more interesting.

Well, the guys over FireCore has successfully jailbroke Apple TV 2G running iOS 4.2.1 with a new jailbreak tool called Seas0nPass, for now it's only available for Mac users. SeasonPass jailbreak looks like PwnageTool technicality, as it cooks custom firmware that you can restore to via iTunes.

Apple has just released a new update for second generation Apple TV. There is no official changelog available yet for iOS 4.2.1 (8C154), but the main purpose of this update is to fix bugs and patch security loopholes.

The other day we told you about the first ever app jailbroken Apple TV 2G app which is called nitoTV. The app currently works as a weather widget and RSS reader. Just a quick heads up, iPhone Dev Team has just released PwnageTool 4.1.1 for Mac to jailbreak iPhone 4, iPad, iPod touch 4G, and the new Apple TV. This update is for Mac OS X 10.5.x users who were experiencing some issues with PwnageTool 4.1.

We have already seen Apple TV SHAttered but now it's been poisoned using GreenPois0n. Members of Chronic Dev Team posted an image as a proof, showing a custom loader with a background on the Apple TV, running iOS 4.1.

Just a quick heads up, PwnageTool is going to be released this Sunday to jailbreak Apple TV 2G and iPhone 3GS old bootrom on iOS 4.1. This was confirmed by iPhone Dev Team member MuscleNerd on his Twitter account saying that Apple TV 2G jailbreak will be covered using PwnageTool on the fun day.

Just a quick little heads-up, chronic dev has just sent a tweet mentioning that the Apple TV might support the Greenpois0n jailbreak. As you’re probably aware that the Greenpois0n jailbreak will be released by October 10, but this release will be only for iOS 4th generation devices (iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G) and iPad, so the hackers are focusing on this one, so don't expect to see the Apple TV 2G jailbreak in the next Sunday.
